Sabrina Koh

Campus Director, Sengkang General Hospital (SKH), SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Medical Simulation Sengkang Health

Sabrina is a nurse educator with critical care and medical/surgical clinical nursing experience. As a trained and experienced educator, Sabrina has developed academic modules for diploma in nursing, advanced diploma in critical care nursing programmes and numerous clinical specialty-based workshops integrated with simulation as a teaching tool. She was the education lead in National University Hospital and currently in Sengkang General Hospital. Sabrina is an active reviewer for clinical sites, formal education programme curriculum and operations with the Education Committee, Singapore Nursing Board.

Her current work at SKH include clinical education training surrounding clinical workflows, patient safety and multi-disciplinary simulation training using TeamSTEPPS as a complimenting tool for team communication. Exposure to develop as an advanced simulation educator include heavy involvements in simulation faculty development program for local and regional simulation users focusing on scenario designs, facilitation and technical strategies. Since 2004, Sabrina has designed, projected (in budget) and established 1 academic and 3 hospital-based simulation centres in Singapore.

The involvement with SingHealth DukeNUS Institute of Medical Simulation (SIMS) since 2016 as SKH campus director and Chair for Accreditation Committee led to application of experience and leadership in SBE. SIMS achieved full SSH accreditation in May 2019 for Core, Teaching, Assessment, Research and System Integration for 4 SingHealth institutions – Singapore General Hospital, KK Women and Children Hospital, Sengkang General Hospital and Changi General Hospital.

Sabrina currently serve as a site reviewer and member on the sub-committee for Quality, Accreditation Committee, Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). She is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator - Advanced (CHSE-A) and Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS). She is also a Fellow with the SSH Academy (FSSH).

Sabrina is the president for the Pan Asia Simulation Society in Health (PASSH) and Vice-President for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare Singapore (SSHS).

  • Leveraging on wearable immersive devices to perform expert-assisted maintenance or repair tasks without the need of clear understanding of the standard operating procedures
  • Improving productivity through real-time access to valuable information from various sources in the workplace
