Dr Frank Guan

Assistant Professor, Information and Communications Technology Cluster Singapore Institute of Technology

Dr Frank Guan Yunqing is an Assistant Professor at the Information and Communications Technology Cluster in Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). As a veteran with nearly 20 years of R&D experience in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), he had been spear-leading VR/AR research from 2011 – 2018 in three large R&D centres at Nanyang Technological University in collaborations with both academic and industry partners, including ETH Zurich, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of British Columbia and Singtel.

Dr Guan has published dozens of papers in top-tier conferences and journals and has served in the programme and organizing committee for more than 20 international conferences and events. He received the prestigious Andrew Fraser Prize from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) in 2006 in recognition of his research excellence. Dr Guan currently sits on the board of advisors for two tech startups in Singapore and was awarded the SMART Innovation Fellow in 2015 from the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology.
